Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Librarian based in the Representative Church Body (RCB) Library, Braemor Park, Dublin 14.
Reporting to the Librarian and Archivist, the Assistant Librarian will assist in the care and custody of the Library’s printed collections and the provision of user services. The role will include cataloguing books and periodicals, contributing to ongoing digital projects, and responding to queries from users of the Library’s services.
Candidates should have a primary degree and a recognised relevant postgraduate qualification together with at least three years’ relevant experience.

The Library:
provides a repository for the Church’s archives, manuscripts and related objects, which tell the story of the Church of Ireland community;
assists in the continuing Christian education of clergy and laity by serving the needs of those engaged in ministerial training at the nearby Church of Ireland Theological Institute and through distance learning;
acts as a reference source for those seeking information about the Church of Ireland.

The Assistant Librarian will:
Catalogue books, periodicals and pamphlets and contribute to retrospective cataloguing;
Administer the library management system;
Assist with reader services and enquiries;
Contribute to the digitization of key sources and finding aids;
Provide support for the Church’s publishing programme.
