Based in our offices in Dublin, Ireland, this position in the Professional Services Department (PSD) will install and configure products for new and existing customers and provide data-related consulting and profiling services. We are looking for a dependable and reliable team member who is customer-focused, has solid data skills and communicates effectively. This individual will report to Lead, Data Profiling.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install INN-Reach, SkyRiver, ArticleReach and other products using procedures.

  • Interpret and analyze metadata, transactional activity data and reference data and provide clear recommendations based on results.

  • Consult with customers on database profiling including field mapping, indexing and display.

  • Configure system tables according to business requirements.

  • Batch load records and monitor record loads into test and live systems.

  • Test circulation activity between INN-Reach local and central servers and in collaboration with implementation team members and/or library staff members.

  • Troubleshoot data loading, circulation and software problems using Linux and Innovative programs and tools.

  • Report software bugs effectively including providing release versions, precise steps to reproduce and screenshots of error messages.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement Innovative products.

  • Collaborate with project manager on project schedule and tasks on an as needed basis.

  • Deliver products and services according to the project plan.

  • Time track by project task.

  • Consult with and support colleagues as needed.

  • Fine-tune and contribute to documentation as new information is learned.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree plus least three years or more experience consulting with customers on software implementation projects or equivalent experience

  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts.

  • Strong Unix and/or Linux experience including shell scripting and data parsing techniques.

  • Familiarity with C or C++ and Perl.

  • Ability to write and understand basic SQL queries.

  • Excellent telephone and writing skills.

  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a dynamic environment is essential.

  • Proven record of working well under pressure performing a wide variety of tasks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team including attending meetings virtually.

  • Ability to travel to headquarters in Emeryville, California.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Computer Science degree and/or M.L.S. degree.

  • Strong knowledge of the Innovative product line especially Sierra and INN-Reach.

  • NCIP and circulation lending and borrowing protocols in libraries.

  • Sound understanding of library technical practices and procedures.

  • Experience with ISO-2709 / MARC format.

  • At least three years or more experience working with data including data analysis and conversion of a variety of data sets from one format to another format.

  • Ability to speak and/or write in a foreign language a plus.
