About this role:
The Novartis Knowledge Center (NKC) is looking for an experienced, dedicated,
forward-looking Information Specialist to join the team in Dublin.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of licensed published information
and data resources and will be responsible for evaluating, negotiating, and licensing of
information resources including active vendor management and engagement with
internal stakeholder groups to maximize the value and provide consistent information
quality at equitable prices for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of externally licensed information and data resources
• Develop long-term partnership with major information providers to increase
efficiency, optimize vendor performance and productivity, and improve quality of
services and products delivered.
• Keep aware of external information environment to make sure we are using best tools
and innovative technologies
• Lead portfolio reviews and product evaluations for supported content or services and
partner with key stakeholders to make recommendations that enhance the value
proposition for Novartis
• Work with business teams to help integrate external information into custom
solutions
• Actively manage relationships with internal partners and stakeholder groups at
Novartis to provide recommendations, and alignment of external content needs for
different customer groups.
• Gather, analyse and interpret data from internal and external information sources;
present findings and relevant insights to stakeholders
• Manage contractual compliance for NKC licensed resources and adherence to
international copyright laws to protect the interests of Novartis
• Sustain a level of domain specific knowledge on relevant information resources and
content management in general
• Provide budget and cost input to NKC leadership to support NKC fiscal management

Minimum Requirements
Essential Requirements:
•PhD/Masters Degree in Life Sciences and/or Masters of Library and Information
Science with relevant scientific background. MBA from reputed institutes and/or
advanced Pharmacy degree
• Experience in information sciences, knowledge management or corporate library
operations within the pharma industry or relevant research experience
• Proven licensing, vendor management, and negotiation skills; ideally with experience
in license and contract management skills
• Knowledge of the information industry market; and the key players and information
resources in the scientific, technical, medical, or business and commercial field
• Excellent copyright knowledge
• Experience at a multi-national or intercultural / global team environment;
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Desirable Requirements:
• Fluency in German is advantageous
• Experience with data analysis
