Post Title: Librarian and College Archivist (permanent, full-time) / TCD Library, based on the College Campus

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 1 scale at a point in line with current Government pay policies
Trinity College Dublin will shortly be accepting applications for the post of Librarian and College Archivist whose role will be to lead Trinity College Library in a major new phase of development.

The Librarian will provide strategic vision and leadership for the development of the Library and will enhance the operational accountability of robust and vigorous Library services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall policy, strategic planning and management of the Library. S/he will drive the strategic direction of the Library in close collaboration with the Library Staff and the academic community. The successful candidate, supported by the Leadership Team will be responsible for around 150 staff. S/he will also be responsible for the management of the Library budget, for fundraising and for the exploitation of philanthropic opportunities. The preferred candidate will have a strong track record of managing a major library or relevant cultural institution (with ideally a minimum of 10 years experience), both strategically and at an expert level. S/he will also have extensive experience of managing large and significant collections, ideally across several sites.
