Librarian

Milford Care Centre, working in partnership with the Health Service Executive,

provides a comprehensive range of Specialist Palliative Care Services and Services for Older People throughout Counties Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary (Mid-West Region).

Applications are now invited from experienced highly motivated professionals, with relevant background and qualifications for the following position

This position is a part time Fixed Term, (22.5 hours per week) Grade V position for the duration of the current post holder’s absence on maternity leave.

Owing to the nature of the work involved it is essential that the successful candidate possesses the following:

Qualifications:

  1. Applicants should hold a primary degree plus a recognised postgraduate qualification in library and information studies,

AND

  1. At least 3 years’ experience in a librarian role, ideally in a health care environment.

AND

  1. Have experience of searching literature databases and delivering training.

It is desirable that the post holder has a working knowledge of e-learning packages including Moodle, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate and screen casting software or similar

  • Excellent administrative, project management and organisational skills

  • Time management skills

  • Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Ability to prioritise a very busy and demanding workload

This is a demanding role in a fast-changing environment and the post holder will need the ability to respond to changing priorities and interact with personnel across the organisation.
