The Knowledge department not only delivers the tools, skills and support required to ensure our lawyers have access to the best knowledge resources possible, but also co-ordinates and promotes knowledge sharing in the firm. The Knowledge department is made up of knowledge lawyers and the library team.
Our experienced library team provides a legal research service for our lawyers and is responsible for ensuring the library collection of resources (books, journals, databases, law reports) is current, relevant and accessible. The library team is also responsible (in conjunction with knowledge lawyers) for current awareness services, monitoring legal developments and knowledge tools.
Our five-week paid internship will equip you with professional skills and experience to increase your employability. For the duration of your internship, you will be working with the Library team. You will be assigned to a buddy and supervisor to ensure you are fully supported. You will be fully immersed in the team’s work, while receiving formal training and mentoring, to empower you to get the most from the opportunity. The internship will provide opportunities to get involved in CSR activities, network with our people across the firm, and socialise with your fellow interns.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will align with the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians Professional Skills Framework and will include:

Legal research: assist library team with research queries

Acquisitions: order, track and catalogue acquisitions

Library systems: assist in the maintenance and testing of library systems including intranet sites, library management system, know how system.

Training: attend and participate in library-related training such as resource training or research training

Day-to-day library duties including processing of loans, journal circulation, book labelling, managing joiners/leavers process, loose-leaf filing
Eligibility
The internship is open to candidates who have completed a recognised professional qualification in library or information management or who are currently pursuing a professional qualification in library or information management.

Location
The library internship will take place the firm’s Dublin office. The successful intern will be required to attend the office in person from 29 May – 30 June.
