Meath County Council is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of public services in Meath, with a focus on making it the lead county for economic prosperity, social development and environmental protection, with efficient and good value services and a Council representing the people and communities of County Meath in an effective and accountable manner.
An opportunity now exists in Meath County Council for the position of County Librarian.
The County Librarian is charged with responsibility for the planning and management of the library services for Meath. This is a senior management role within the Local Authority which includes determining the organisational framework of the library in what is a very challenging environment.
The role requires strong leadership, innovation, agility and a commitment to customer service, alongside a high level of professional library and management skills, which include a strategic and operational element while maintaining value for money.
