Job Title: Product Owner
Department: Product Management
POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Owner will be responsible for translating market needs as defined by Innovative’s product management team into actionable artifacts to be used by the engineering team to develop Innovative’s software products that meet the defined customer need.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Leads the development of JIRA Story tasks and Confluence artifacts for the team.
Assists with requirements gathering and analysis.
Provides feedback that improves the quality of requirements artifacts.
Supports Product Management in handoff and rollout sessions.
Identifies design problems; develops and presents solutions to resolve these problems.
Provides domain expertise and product knowledge to the team.
Additional Responsibilities:
Researches topics as needed for new development.
Attends Support Department expert meetings (as needed).
Triages and analyzes JIRA Problem Report and Bug tasks (as needed)
Tests software changes (as needed).
Assists with the creation of configuration and installation procedures (as needed).

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree, or combination of some college and experience.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Library Operations
Software Design
Software Specification Writing
Software Integration
Software Quality Assurance
Software Application Support
Software Engineering
Systems Analysis
Experience with Agile methodologies.

Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Familiarity with creating mock user interfaces using tools such as Balsamiq, Axure, etc.
Excellent analytic skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Good research skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Preferred
MLIS or bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Familiarity with library practices and procedures.
Experience with Library Automation Software.
Experience with UNIX, RDBMS, Windows O/S.
Experienced user of iOS and/or Android mobile applications with a specific passion for usability.
Programming experience.
Scripting Language Experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OR INFORMATION
Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours work may be required to meet customer and/or business needs.
Occasional travel, e.g. for conferences, customer visits, training.
