Sales Engineer  – Southern European Region

Reporting to the Director of Library Engagement within the Sales Department, the
Sales Engineer is a product expert demonstrating all aspects of Innovative’s suite of
software for libraries across the world and supports the initiatives of the worldwide
This position will be field based within a country relevant to the territory

Description of Responsibilities:
 Create and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations that vary in complexity and audience level, for worldwide Sales team to libraries both on premise and via webinars.
 Provide technical consultation to libraries implementing Innovative systems
and products.
 Assist in training Sales team in new products and services offered by
 Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing, and work closely with Sales team to build, maintain, and market world class software to libraries around the world.
 Liaise with Product Development team for software enhancement, design, and roadmap planning.
 Support Bids team for RFI and RFP technical documents.
 Attend major library conferences to support Marketing and Sales initiatives.
 Install software for Innovative’s suite of technology.
 Learn new software and develop effective strategies to communicate benefits to potential customers.
 Test and troubleshoot sales environment software installations.
 Participate in cross-departmental project teams to implement and test trial library systems.
 Consult with customers and prospects by phone and e-mail.
 Create and maintain procedural documentation.
 Work collaboratively with colleagues on the team.
 Provide software and technical support for staff in other departments.
 Manage multiple projects and work well under deadlines and with shifting

Requirements/ Qualifications:

Essential Requirements
 Degree or Post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Studies or similar qualification
 Relevant experience working within the library marketplace.
 Good understanding of library technology and ability to learn and apply new technologies.
 Experience working with a commercial ILS, preferable from Innovative.
 Demonstrated strong commitment to customer service.
 Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, and client/server technology.
 Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
 Ability to perform detail-oriented work effectively and accurately under
 Excellent software troubleshooting and problem solving skills and analysis in a technical environment
 Ability to work in a team-based environment as well as independently.
 Ability to learn proprietary technology and tools quickly and accurately.
 Ability to occasionally work off-hours or weekends as necessary to meet customer needs.
 Ability to travel domestically and internationally at least 50% of time for onsite demonstrations, conferences, etc.

Desirable Requirements

 Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) and English
 Fluency in French (spoken and written)
 Located in Europe
