Specific Responsibilities include:

Contributing to the strategic development of the Library with particular reference to Library IT and with a focus on open source and open access solutions
- Management and maintenance of the Koha Library Management System, including OPAC, annual Library stocktake, user records and regular imports from the Student Management System and other Library systems
- Management and maintenance of the EBSCO Discovery Service, including off-campus access to the whole suite of online resources
- Design, configuration and maintenance of Springshare’s Libguides, Libcal and Libwiz, ensuring that the Library website, subject portals and calendar are up-to-date
- Management of Shibboleth
- Management of the OJS publishing platform and team working on Library publishing projects
- Management and maintenance of RFID enabled self-service stations
- Configuration and maintenance of the print management system, Papercut
- Troubleshooting Library PCs, printers and other hardware, acting as liaison with IT Department
- Management and promotion of the Library social media tools and accounts

Reporting on systems and statistics generation
- Training Library staff as required with reference to Library IT
- Representation of the Library on College boards and committees
- Desk duties and Ask-a-Librarian
- Other tasks and activities as required
Requirements:
Essential
Post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Studies
Minimum of two years of Library experience
Experience managing or supporting library management systems and related technologies
Familiarity with digital repositories
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable
Experience of Open Source software and the ability to write or modify scripts and programmes
(HTML and SQL) is desirable
Knowledge current trends in technology and systems developments affecting libraries and higher education
