The post-holder will be responsible for the overall coordination and development of all operational services across the Collection Management Division.
The Sub-Librarian will have direct responsibility for the management of the Bibliographic Data Management Department, and will work closely with the Heads of the Accessions and Periodicals Departments in developing and improving integrated service delivery.

Candidates must have a good honours degree and a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship and significant relevant experience, with evidence of successfully managing staff, resources and operations in a large academic or similar library.
Applicants should possess highly developed management and interpersonal skills and demonstrate an innovative approach to problem solving and a good sense of judgment. They should demonstrate strong leadership skills, particularly in staff motivation and the ongoing management of change. They will have a flexible and adaptable attitude towards their own role and that of the division. A positive attitude, enthusiasm for new challenges, empathy for others, along with excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.
Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, as is the awareness of national and international trends in the library and information environment. Knowledge of cataloguing standards, an interest and awareness of trends and developments in cataloguing, metadata and resource discovery are important. The post holder will be expected to develop and deliver leading edge services mindful of the traditions of scholarship and learning within Trinity.
